WANTED: ART PATRON
WHY: FUND MY WAY TO NAEA CONFERENCE IN NYC!!!!
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

You know, there was a time that art patrons were not such a foreign concept.  Oh the good old days...art patrons were everywhere and you'd be good to go if you didn't get the black plague and die!

I know that most of you would love to go to the NAEA Conference in NY.  I know that money is an issue for most of us.  Sad isn't it.  The refreshing of our artistic & art ed"istic"soul is being kept from the very thing it needs the most.  Are there no rich blog readers out there that have the money to fix this injustice?  Air, lodging, conference fees....is that too much to ask?!?! :)  ha ha  I know...dreamin'.  But where would we be without our dreams?!?!

BUT REALLY...CONTACT ME IF YOU WANNA HELP SEND MR.E TO
THE NAEA CONFERENCE!!!!

Just a random picture of me & my sweet Margaret...just because!

  1. It isn't quite fair that we have to work so hard to attend such worthy conferences... I try really hard not to think about how my district spends to send coaches to less worthy conferences. Hope you find a donor!

  2. I too can't afford to go the conference. I live only a few hours away from the conference, but I just can't afford the hotel and other costs. Hope you find a way to make it to the conference.

  5. I'm right there with ya! I even have a place to stay in NY - but the district will make me take those days 'unpaid' and I have to pay for all the fees to get in and ticket to get there since it is 'out of state'....

  6. I can afford the plane tickets and the conference fees....it's the hotel that really gets me! If it's in a cheaper location, I'll probably go next year.

However, I thought I'd let you know that art patrons do still exist! There is an art league here in Indiana that sends an art teacher to our state conference every year. I applied this year, and got to go to our AEAI conference for free! It was fantastic.

  7. Wish I could be your patron, but I'm acting as my own patron this time around. Footing the bill for myself for train, registration, lodging etc. But I just couldn't resist! Besides, my son is out of college and is surviving (minimally) on his own, so at least I don't have to worry about college tuition etc.

But Jen is right - the coaches get lots of $$. And districts get prof.development programs in and force you to go and they NEVER have anything that relates to those of us in the arts, so we sit there wasting time that could be better spent.

Jessica, yes, NY hotels are expensive, but what a fabulous location!

But we have a big guest room. I'm a huge fan of your blog and a pintrest follower. If you want a place to stay you're welcome. 2 kids and a schnauzer (one of our expenses!) Just contact me through my blog or iilustrationwebsite: http://paulacohen.blogspot.com/
