Art With Mr.E: Tissue Paper Color Transfer

OH MY GOODNESS?!?! My video quality is getting worse instead of better?!?!  I've tried some different things the past two videos....and they obviously are not good things! ha ha WHAT IS THAT THING IN THE BOTTOM LEFT CORNER?!?! I didn't know it was obstructing the view till after I did the whole video and went to play it back.  It is what it is friends...hopefully you can still get something from it even though that thing is in the way! ha ha

This is a tissue paper color transfer.  You will need paper, pencil, sharpie, bleeding tissue paper , brush, and water(a spray bottle works GREAT!). Later you will need crayons, markers, or colored pencils.
If you don't have bleeding tissue paper....you will need to use a watered down glue, mod podge, or liquid starch to attach the regular tissue paper down(as flat & smooth as possible).

Art Camp at New Hope: Day 1

My wife & I are doing 4 mini-camps this week at our church.  She's doing games/snacks.....and I am doing art(duh?!?! ha ha).  Day 1 was ocean themed.  It was very interesting...none of the children were "my" students.  They came from different schools, different districts, home schooling....it was a mixed bag!  You know how you get your kids to a certain point...and they know how to do things...know what you're talking about...understand the vocabulary.  Well...not everyone teaches the same way I do, I guess! :) ha ha  That being said...the kids were awesome.  They really did a great job...and we had a whole lot of fun!!

Peacock-A-Palooza Part 4: Mixed Media on Canvas

This is a mixed media on canvas(though...if you can't afford to purchase canvas...cardboard would work).  There are so many directions you can go with such a project!  For a quicker turn around time...we gave the teachers tissue paper to cover their backgrounds.  Paint is also an option, but will take a little time to dry.  They also had full access to boxes of fun fabric.  They were encouraged to be thinking of words that describe themselves to add.  They could use Sharpie, magazines, fabric....whatever....to create the words.  LOVE THE PERSONALITY SHINING THROUGH!

Completed Flower Mixed Media/Recycled Project: K

I may add black glitter in the center of the flowers, but we're calling these done!  Cutting the butterfly from the diffuser paper was a challenge!  We ended up telling the students to cut out 4 circle/ovals & then gluing the pieces together.  The fabric was also a big challenging for some, but overall most student were able to do it unassisted.

Step 2: Kindergarten

So here is the second step in the kindergarten project from my last post!  We have one more day of work till the final reveal! This was not as easy as it seems?!?!?! OH MY GOODNESS!!  Monday I felt like I was banging my head on the wall!!!!  I had to rethink the lesson...and Tues/Wed went so much better!  I took all the students painted paper and cut it up on my paper cutter.....then gave each table a pile of paper to use.  I also used the pre-cut tissue paper circles.  Stay tuned for the rest of the story...umm.....project!

Tissue Paper Stained Leaves: Kindergarten

These are not earth shattering, but I loved the colors that were created by the tissue paper!
