The Cryptid Collection Art Show

 WELCOME TO

THE CRYPTID COLLECTION

ALL SCHOOL ART SHOW

I could not get these photos to load in any kind of order for the life of me!?!?!

The show was a huge success, and everyone really seemed to enjoy walking through, participating in the activities(kids and parents), and as always...the cookie table was a hit!

I purchased a book from Amazon that was the Cryptids of the United States.  Each class learned about a different state and the cryptids found there. (Pretty much every state has a Big Foot & Locke Ness type creature.)  They all seemed to love the theme.  They created about 4 pictures total in that theme, and were able to select their favorite.  You will see a lot of classes went for the same project to put in the show because they loved the media/style we were working.

Op Art/Line Design

OLDY BUT A GOODY
If you want another op art style project with shading....try this one out.  I did switch to using pencil this year instead of sharpie to draw it because I had so many students with anxiety.  Was not worth stressing them out!  All you need is pencil, paper, colored pencils, and patience!

Op Art Fun!

Op Art is so much fun to study with your students (I'd say 2nd on up!). There are so many interesting works to look through, and so much inspiration to be had.  Think about things you are trying to cover (standards/skills/elements/principles), and focus your lesson in that direction.  It really is so versatile.
If you need to bounce ideas off of someone, leave me a comment here or find me on my other social media.  I'd be happy to help.

TULIP GROVE ELEMENTARY ART SHOW 2023

I honestly thought we had an art show since the pandemic, but after looking through my blog, social media, and my phone/iPad....I guess not?!?  Art shows are a lot of work. If you have not organized an all school art show before....you have to be organized!  You have to have a plan. You have to have caffeine! HA HA!  I do a thematic art show.  You can search my blog and find all the ones from year's past.  I really loved this year's theme...TGE PET SHOP! I start doing projects related to the theme as soon as we get back from Christmas Break.  There are a lot of absences due to illness during this time...and we often add a lot of new students as well.  I try to have at least 4 projects that are within the theme of the art show so students have choices to select from.  If you have questions...please message me or hit me up on social media.  I'd be happy to share my experiences.

SO HERE IS THIS YEAR'S K-5th ART SHOW.
