First Day of Two Day Inservice

Toilet Paper Roll Owls(inspired by a pinned Pinterest project!)

Follow-Up Project- teachers had to draw their owl(larger than their hand) and create an interesting environment for him/her.  They also needed at least 5 patterns in the picture.
TEACHERS, IF YOU DO NOT SEE YOUR PROJECT...THE PICTURE DID NOT TURN OUT! SORRY!

Today was day one of our two day inservice/swap days.  Janet, Daryl, Tim, and I are leading the event that takes 50+ MNPS elementary art teachers(of our 90+) through the new TN State Standards for Visual Arts, as well as the new MNPS Visual Arts Curriculum for Elementary.  These topics can be "heavy" and not a whole lot of fun.  HOWEVER...WE BRING THE FUN!!! :) ha ha  We made sure to keep in interactive, studio experiences, application of information through group unit planning, and just a whole lot of art teacher talk(something that we just don't get enough of face to face!!).  The teachers(most of them) seem to enjoy themselves, and I'm totally looking forward to tomorrow!

Question: What kind of glue works best for sequins??

So this next week my 2nd graders are going to be adding to their tint & shade robots.  I'm going to allow them to use some metallic paint & sequins to give 'em a little bling bling.  However, when I've used sequins in the past...it just hasn't worked out very well.  I would allow the students to attach the sequins with Elmer's.  However...they'd so easily pop off after the glue dried.  What works best for you?
Thanks for your thoughts!!!!
