Weaving With Ribbon: 2nd Grade

A few years ago I was given a TON of green ribbon.  Small skeins of it....probably around 40+.  I've really not known how to use it....but didn't want to get rid of it.  Well...with my crazy busy life...I decided I'd use it for fabric weaving with 2nd grade.  The looms are not huge I'm using so it actually worked wonderfully. It was a big time saver for me....cutting the fabric down for this project last year took forever!

  1. You know how I LOVE all weaving projects you do...but I must say I am incredibly impressed that they did not twist the ribbon! They look wonderful!

  2. I'm fabric weaving right now!! I know how you feel about cutting fabric- UGH. But I got SO MUCH fabric donated to me (so much is an understatement), that I need to use it!! Post will be up soon!

  3. Me, again : )... I was just wondering, how are you going to "finish" these? Are you just going to snip the ends that are secured to the loom and tie them and let the ribbons hang loose (if that makes any sense)? I think that's what I'm going to do, but we don't have as many wefts (I think?) so I'm not sure if they'll fall apart when I take them off the loom.

  4. Hannah...I let them stay on the loom. We take rectangles of construction paper and fold it over the edges to make it look more finished..like a wall hanging.
