A World of Art: TGE's Annual Art Show

WELCOME TO THE ANNUAL ALL SCHOOL TGE ART SHOW!!!

A WORLD OF ART

I hope you enjoy scrolling & strolling through our art show!  I wanted to give you the big picture of what an art show looks like at TGE.  I can not begin to tell you the amount of time that goes into putting on a show like this. You have to plan, be organized, try to find volunteers(sometimes they show..sometimes they don't), and put in a lot of extra hours. That being said...IT IS ALWAYS WORTH IT!!!!!!  If you have not done a show, and want to talk through things...feel free to e-mail me.  I'd be happy to help you out.

  1. I love looking at art shows! My venue changed and I will have to "safely" mount artwork on painted walls. Is "sticky tack" my best option? I remember a post of you getting all your sticky tack ready! I also use tables, easels and stacked cardboard boxes to put art on.

    1. sticky tack works for me and my walls... there is one wall that has a lot of moisture..and paint will pull off the wall there.

    1. We have "wings" in our school...and it is in a central area where the wings come together for two of the halls. It is also where the library, teacher lounge, book room..etc. are. So there is a lot of wall space available. Plus...most people come through that area from buses..or on their way to lunch.

  4. Great work, Ted. I love the "Give Us A Hand" art activity. My art show will be in June. Still haven't worked out how I'm going to do it. Seeing how you organized it was helpful!

  5. My art show is at the end of October and planning for it has well and truly already started. At least i have a committee to assist me this year, after I stomped my feet and said I wasn't doing another art show without one! This will be my second art show and the last one, two years ago, was fairly simple in layout and concept, but still had more than 2500 pieces of work on display - no I am not kidding - there are approx 940 students at my school! So this year I will be displaying less work, hopefully, but have more hands on stuff available for visitors and some small free workshops on the Saturday morning for kids and parents to sign up for. Wish me luck!
