RUBRICS?

So I am wanting to use a self assessment rubric with my students next year on most projects.  I need to keep it simple & generic.  I teach so many limited english, resource, and special ed students...I do not want it to stress them(or any other child really).  I just want to get them thinking about their work with a  more critical eye.  You know how hard it would be to design a new rubric for every lesson, every grade level, every week?!?!?!!  So what ya got.  I'm interested to hear/see how you handle such things.  If you want to send me a Word Doc..just e-me at artwithmre@yahoo.com

  2. Me too... I've taught HS for 11 years and now find myself teaching Elementary... rubrics are not common in art here. I would love to see what others do. I am having my upper grades, 2-6, write what they like best about their work and what they thought was most difficult or what they would do differently next time for each project. I make up a half sheet with information on the project and artists we looked at, State Standards met, and a box for them to write their responses. THey glue it to the back of their artwork so that the parents and anyone else can check it out.

  5. Where the rubrics posted from your student teachers your end result to this problem? Or do you have a better solution? We are moving into making a unique rubric for each unit and like you said that idea is very overwhelming.
