Exhibition Hall: OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you ever seen any documentaries or "B" movies on piranhas!??!!?  Well..that is kind of what the exhibition hall was like when the doors open every day!! HA HA HA (am I right attendees?)  After a few minutes..everyone disperses & it really isn't that bad.  IT IS ENOUGH TO BRING A TEAR TO YOUR EYE!  One could actually spend the whole day in the exhibition hall!  There are so many companies...so much to see...so much to do(many of the companies have projects you can do..or products you can test).  I have so much "stuff" that I'm taking home with me...it is crazy. Michaels area was so beautiful...like a full set!!!  I also loved Blick's set up!

4 YEARS IN A BLINK OF AN EYE

Today my sweet baby girl turns 4!!

Here is my beautiful baby girl at 4yrs old!
She is dramatic, spunky, funny, caring, imaginative, and a people person!
I'm blessed to be her daddy...and God has taught/is teaching me so much through her & this amazing role I play in her life!

The many faces of Margaret Danielle!

NAEA FORT WORTH: FIRST DAY FUN!

Andy Warhol hadn't heard of Art with Mr. E?!?!?!  What's up with that Andy????

This is Jo Pearson...she is a creative consultant for Michael's ...and was one of the judges on Craft Wars!!

I'm having a blast at NAEA Fort Worth!  I've already met so many amazing people.   The first hour and a half I pretty much stood in the same place talking to I don't know how many people that knew me from the blog. It was so encouraging to speak to them about their teaching situations...and how they've used some of the things from Art With Mr. E in their rooms.  Makes it all worth it!!!!!

Look Who's Going to Fort Worth With Me!

(I was inspired by Mr. R's ugly sweater purse post for  how I decorated the page...ha ha
http://mymessyartroom.blogspot.com/2012/11/the-hated-sweater.html)

Mr. R from MY MESSY ART ROOM will be experiencing NAEA Fort Worth Flat Stanley style!
I'm not sure if you remember my adventures at NAEA NYNY last year?!?!

Phyl from There's A Dragon In My Art Room took me to NY with her!  I'm not sure I'll be able to do as good of job as Phyl did...but I'm hoping Mr. R enjoy's his experience at the conference!!!!

Business Cards

Speaking at NAEA Fort Worth....I decided it might be a good thing to have business cards. I had some made a few years ago when I had the art show for my masters.  However, those featured my personal art.  Now I'm more branded as an art educator(though creating art is still important to me)...and I felt my business cards should reflect that.  I used Vistaprint ( http://www.vistaprint.com ) to create them.  Their site was easy to use, and had so many options!!!  The price wasn't too bad...seemed to be the norm as I looked through many sites.  My picture I edited on Befunky ( http://www.befunky.com ).

Fancy/Fun/Crazy Hair: Kindergarten

(This child is wise beyond her years in many ways!  Love this portrait!!!)

The last lesson from my student teacher for Kindergarten (next week is finish up week..and her last week with us).  This was a WINNER!!!!!!!!  She started by reading Fancy Nancy(who you may know has very fancy hair).  There are many books out there about crazy/messed up hair you could use if you think Fancy Nancy is too polarizing(but I'll tell ya..the boys loved it too!!!).  She taught the student some basic principles of portraiture...and then had them create crazy fancy/fun/crazy hair on themselves.  They kids were really into it!     I like to do portraits several times a year with my students...to gauge student progress.  This is a fresh way to do portraits so students aren't like..."NOT AGAIN!?!?!".

If you look closely...they have boogers?!?!?! Yes..they were setting together.
Kids are so gross sometimes! ha ha ha

There is something very simple & sweet about this picture.  It is one of my favorites!

In The Jungle... 3rd Grade

Construction paper crayons lend themselves nicely to tropical pictures.  The colors are bright and fun....and make a lush landscape seem even more alive!  I love the results my students are getting!!!
