Have you all been following this? Since my other post about Van Gogh's Sunflowers being vandalized, it has happened several more times. Monet's Haystacks, Vermeer's Girl With a Pearl Earing, and one of Toulouse-Lautrec's works.
From what I've read, all of the works are fine (Thank goodness for protective glass!).
Maybe the criminals were targeting work they new was protected...maybe not?!? I just feel there is a better way to promote the cause of saving our planet than these ridiculous stunts.
Amen! I think they are angering the very people that actually support environmental concerns and climate change reforms. I was in Cardiff, Wales a few years ago when Extinction Rebellion-a pro environment group active in Europe-shut down downtown Cardiff. I had to walk a little farther to get to my bus but it was inconvenient, not destructive. Their-ER- point was that climate change impacts ALL of us and an hour of inconvenience is nothing on what may happen. Throwing soup at a painting...or gluing their hands to a painting impacts NO ONE...reduces the very serious issue of the environment and climate change to a silly stunt. IMHO, of course.
