Every year we have an all school art show at Tulip Grove. Every student has one piece of art in the show. This is the first year that TGE has only one art teacher...ME! So, it was a bit more overwhelming than normal (and there is the whole finishing my masters, married, 1 yr old baby, building a house..etc..etc..HA HA). The theme I picked was How Artists See. The students created worked based off an artist or artistic style. This is just an overview, and I'll add more photos over the next couple days.
Wow, Ted! Looks great! I know you are worn out...but I'm sure it was worth it! :-)ReplyDelete
Looks great! Lots of hard work...Kudos to you!ReplyDelete
Wow! That's incredible. It's got to be a huge endeavor. I'd love to have a school art show but not sure how I'd figure all that out. You inspire me :)ReplyDelete
BEAUTIFUL!! Congrats because I know this was a huge undertaking! I did Square 1 art this year and had the help of my PTO and I was still overwhelmed and exhausted. Good job!ReplyDelete
I love this idea. I always say this project was inspired by or we will try to make it look like... but I love how artists see!ReplyDelete
What a great art show! I am thinking of doing a full school art show too. Do you do a different theme every year?ReplyDelete
I do pick a different theme every year. When I first got to this school, the art teachers use to select different work for the students throughout the year. This was a organizational nightmare...as are school is very transient. So after I get back from Christmas break we start on our art show picture. This gives me enough time to get a great picture from every student(usually). I like having at least a class or two per the same project so parents can look and gage where their child is at compared to the other children. This helps with..."I don't know why my child doesn't get a better grade in art?". HELLO..LOOK..REALITY CHECK!!! :) ha haReplyDelete
Making ONE piece for the art show in December makes much more sense. I have 2-3 projects for each kid! Too much work for 600 kids. Luckily I have a husband who loves the kids art as much as me and will help!ReplyDelete
The unsung hero of the art program is our spouses they work so hard for these events, and more!
