Hi! I just found your blog and am very excited about it! I'm going to be a second year teacher and am happy to find such an inspirational blog. I was also curious about the lesson behind this project. Thank you for sharing!
Mrs. Derusha, Glad the blog is helpful to ya..alway feel free to e-mail me at artwithmre@yahoo.com
This project was just a fun pattern lesson. We looked at pictures of rainforsts, the animals of the rainforest..etc. We talked about how busy they were and full of life. We wanted to show this in a fun and playful way without being too literal with rainforest. They drew it first. Then did the stripes of watercolor. After that dried..they used markers to color the trees & such.
Tell me more about the rain forest lesson. The results are so interesting. I'd love to know how you presented this.
