Completed Circle Weavings: 3rd Grade

This week (and a couple classes next week) I'm giving my students back their weavings to finish up while I pass out their clay masks & painting supplies.  2 birds with one stone!!!!!!!

Proud Papa Moment

If you have followed my blog for any length of time...you probably realize I'm a pretty proud papa. This weekend we spent a lot of time together...just the three of us.  My wife was preparing for annual cookie exchange extravaganza....so Margaret, Eli, and I had some adventures.  This picture is from Lowe's..they were having a kids craft day building gingerbread houses.  Silly me thought it would actually be gingerbread.  My daughter LOVES using tools...and Eli(as always) is just happy to be!    She did a great job..and even let little brother swing the hammer a couple times.

VOTE FOR ART WITH MR. E

(1st place is the goal!! ha ha)

Hey friends...please take a moment to go vote for Art With Mr. E for blog of the year.  The site that is sponsoring it brings a lot of traffic to my blog.  Last year I placed 5th.  Lets see if we can do better this year!!! :)  There are some WONDERFUL blogs that I love & have on my blog list that you see to the left.  You can only vote once according to the site..but you can vote for more than one blog.

THANK YOU!!!

Painting at the Grove

My teachers have really come to love our painting nights at school!  I've been happy to witness some nervous new painters become confident experienced painters!!  We were creating Christmas inspired pieces(well...most).  Very thankful for my friend Michael O'Neil of M&M Painting for donating the wood boards we used to paint on(Michael also created the boards we used for the bottle cap mural last year...great friend...and supporter of the arts!!!).

Winter Owls w/ Patterns: Kindergarten

This week I read The Little White Owl  to my kindergarten students.  We discussed shape & pattern.  I also introduced construction paper crayons to them. I was thrilled with their work.  They aren't kinderbabies anymore!!!  This is one of the joys of teaching elementary!!!!  My kiddos are growin' up! ha ha
