Once we've read and discussed the book, we make glazed ceramic Pout Pout fish of our own. Depending on the skill levels, some make more of a slab ("taco") fish, with limited slipping/scoring but lots of texture and pinching/pulling. Others make a pinch pot based fish and score/slip attach the pieces parts. This past school year, one little girl created an exact replica of Miss Shimmer!
