Every class has a poster with the tables drawn onto it. At every table are the names of the kids who sit there. If they have a class of perfect set up, working time, and clean up then they get a sticker inside their group's table. If they earn five stickers everyone at that table gets to pick out a "rainbow reward" crayon. It works out great because kids who are normally lazy about clean up get reminded by the others at their group who want to earn their crayons. I almost have 100% clean up in 2nd grade and am close to 90% perfect clean up in 1st.
I wait until after the holidays and pick up the different shape tins so there's always a huge selection of crayon shapes for the kids to pick from. I do make mine at home though (bigger oven), using an exacto knife to cut off the labels.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11257817003336743815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3501308597522720818.post-10654054899759625482012-02-04T11:06:53.732-06:002012-02-04T11:06:53.732-06:00i dont do holidays either! maybe its a guy thing;)...i dont do holidays either! maybe its a guy thing;) this is cool, though. good luck!dmassehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12338136749614382952noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3501308597522720818.post-68532317029548117762012-01-31T13:31:12.777-06:002012-01-31T13:31:12.777-06:00I was going to do that for our 600 + students-THEN...I was going to do that for our 600 + students-THEN I CAME TO MY SENSES!!!!

I did make enough for my own children's classmates at their school. So often, I feel that it is "expected" that art teachers are only crafty people to do Christmas, Valentine's day, and Halloween projects. It has really upped the percentage of cupcakes and brownies I receive each month! Not that I need the sugar, but I do love the kids' excited looks when they get their birthday crayons! And teachers happily give me their 'old' crayons at the end of the school year.Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17039480914922938045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3501308597522720818.post-14756238685545778162012-01-28T09:11:10.720-06:002012-01-28T09:11:10.720-06:00I LOVE this idea!I LOVE this idea!Mrs. Whitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01604527252394541939noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3501308597522720818.post-15376202892167136902012-01-27T19:54:57.516-06:002012-01-27T19:54:57.516-06:00I feel stressed out just thinking about that! lolI feel stressed out just thinking about that! lolAmy Liz Arthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02017337058810743069noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3501308597522720818.post-13050782235790247822012-01-27T07:24:53.877-06:002012-01-27T07:24:53.877-06:00You are probably a *bit* crazy! ;-) Last year i ma...You are probably a *bit* crazy! ;-) Last year i made enough for my sons to give out to their friends and classmates and that took WAY too long for my liking (but they were a hit)...good luck!
