I'm not big into Halloween...and don't do Halloween in my classroom. HOWEVER...when you have a cute little princess dancing around in her dress for Halloween...ya gotta share!

Abstract Cityscapes w/ Value: 2nd Grade
We're looking at landscapes & cityscapes in 2nd grade. I thought that since we just did the abstract expressionism project, that we'd "abstract" our cityscapes. I decided to add in the value element because I had been noticing in past work that my students seem to not be able to control pressure while coloring...or just don't understand the concept. I loved the results!!!!

A Turtle Kind of Christmas
I love turtles! I have them all over my classroom. Over the years, my students have added to my collection. The other day one of my first graders came up to me gave me a small gift bag. Inside was this beautiful Christmas tree ornament from Hobby Lobby (I had already been eyeing this ornament..and had talked myself out of it a few times). He was so proud of getting this gift for me...and I LOVE IT!

Aquatic Inspired Clay Masks: 3rd Grade
We started our clay mask project for 3rd grade this past week. I decided to have the students use an aquatic theme as their inspiration. I change it up every year....animals, emotions, monsters, aliens..etc. We'll paint them with acrylic paint...but expect it to be a few weeks before you start seeing those posted. I still have two more third grade classes to see next week(my crazy schedule this year?!?!). So it will be another week or so before I can fire them all.
