2nd Grade Watercolor

I always talk to the students about using their lightest colors first before moving to the dark.  That way we don't have to worry about changing out water.  It also gets them to think a bit before they start to know what they are going to paint where!!  Often kids jump in and don't think about having something like purple flowers and a purple background being an issue.  Preplanning is always a good thing!!!

  2. What type of paper do you use for painting? Is it just regular copy paper?

  3. I promise- I'm not copying- I did a flower/vase pic with my 3rd graders- used chalk and black glue. Love how vibrant your paintings turned out-sometime, you have to teach me how you approach watercolor.
