THE FLOOD-Nashville,TN

Sorry I've not been posting...the kids have been out for a week due to the floods that rocked Nashville this past weekend. Hopefully they'll return next week. Today is the first day for teachers....and tomorrow I'm hoping to have some time that I might be able to takes some pictures and post...we shall see?!?!!? Thank you for all the e-mails & questions about the projects and ideas I've posted on my blog.

  1. Wow, that's really tough; I never thought about the impact of the flooding on schools etc. Up here in the Adirondacks, we close schools for severe snow and ice, but we generally don't have floods, tornados, hurricanes, etc. Makes me appreciate where we live, despite the long winter. Will you have to make up the missing days? Here in NY state the regulations for # of days in session are pretty strict.

  2. Our whole nation is watching you right now. I wish you well... I know how natural disasters can take sometime to recover from. We had a tornado 3 years ago and lost a student in it. Many homes were distorted and families displaced. I hope that the families of your student are safe and that they are able to get back into 'normal' ASAP. You too!!!

  3. mrs. hahn...my first year of teaching here in nashville...a tornado went through downtown. my school was one of the worst hit..and my first classroom was picked up and dropped on a car(portable). this feels kind of the same to me...but my classroom is safe this time around.
